The Sermon On The Mount.

In His very first public sermon, Jesus, throughout three chapters--Matthew 5,6,7, gives comprehensive details on what it means to be a Christian.  He begins with the beatitudes then underscores them with "Ye are the light of the world".  If we were to read this sermon, as though sitting in the crowd as Jesus spoke, and with the attention of verse 24 of chapter 7, we would see how far--away we are from a. what it means to preach, to listen, to obey and to do all that we are instructed in and by the word. 

I'm convinced, that if we will not heed Jesus's sermon, then all others are but empty noises, with little or no significance, powerless to effect change that's so necessary today. The Apostle Paul wrote, my speech and preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in the demonstration of the Spirit and power of God.  That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men but in the power of God.

"And seeing the multitudes, he went up into a mountain, and when he was set, his disciples came to him and he taught them saying..."
