How to–With All Your Heart.

August 12, 2022 admin Wise-words 0 Comments

God Is not interested in casual relationships. He gave His all and He want your all.

All or nothing is the lesson throughout scripture.

“Without faith, it’s impossible to please God: For he that cometh to God must believe that he is and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” (Hebrews 11:6 ).

God is not moved by our needs, our desires, or even our prayers. But, faith in God can move mountains and all things are possible to them that believe. (Mark 11:24).

Moses instructed Joshua; “This book of the Law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shall meditate therein day and night, that mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein; for then thou shall make thy way prosperous, and then thou shall have good success.” (Joshua 1:8).

God said, “Ye shall seek me, and find me, when you search for me with all your heart .” (Jeremiah 29:13).

Blessed is the man whose delight is in the law of the Lord and in his law doeth he meditate both day and night. (Psalm 1:2).

Put God First … “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness and all these things will be added unto you.” (Matthew 6:33).

“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart , and lean not unto thine own understanding…” (proverbs 3:5).

God expects nothing less than our best at all times. It is written, “Whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men.” (Colossians 3:23).

“ Thou shall love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind.. .” (Luke 10:27).

Why Repent? Behold…! To Obey Is Better.

Written by  strongwords57@gmail.com   Edit

What Does it Mean to Repent? The word repent means to change position or direction. The change is usually motivated by deep remorse for something said, a wicked deed, or evil thoughts. Biblical repentance is followed by restitution wherever possible and a willingness to follow a path of righteousness.

Why Repent? “God commands all men everywhere to repent because he has appointed a day, in which he will judge the world in righteousness…” (Acts 17:30)

Jesus said, “ EXCEPT YE REPENT–YE SHALL ALL LIKEWISE PERISH .” (Luke 13:3.).

The Apostle Peter said, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins…” (Acts 2:38).

King David Prayed: “Have mercy upon me, O God…”(Psalm 51:1-17)

God Is Not A Man–He Cannot Lie: (Numbers 23:19). Therefore, whenever He speaks, obedience is the only expected response, and that without question. God, nevertheless, allows questions, that we may gain a better understanding of who He is and so learn to trust Him.

When Abraham and Sarah were having doubts, God encouraged them with these words; “Is There anything Too Hard for God.” (Genesis 18:14).

When Mary asked the question– “How can these things be…?” The angel responded,” For with God, Nothing Shall Be Impossible” (Luke 2:37).

For centuries the Church has taught repentance as the standard of the Christian experience–a daily confession of all sins. But, from the beginning with Adam and Eve, God has always been much more concerned about our “Obedience” to His word. Through his infinite mercies, God continues to allow repentance as the means whereby “The Penitent” can be restored in his relationship. God, however, never intended that repentance should be used as a crutch for disobedience.

Repentance Is Never A Substitute For Obedience.

NO…! We are not at liberty to sin just because we can repent.

  • “Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?”(Romans 6:1,2).
  • “For brethren, we have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh…” (Galatians 5:13).
  • “Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.” (Galatians 5:1)
  • “This I say then, walk in the Spirit and you will not fulfill the lust of the flesh.” (Galatians 5:16).
  • “Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in the lust thereof.” (Romans 6:12).
  • Know ye not, that to whom you yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are…whether of sin unto death or obedience unto righteousness. (Romans 6:16).

Obedience , therefore, should be the  Primary Focus of the Church–not repentance, as has been the practice, for far too long.

The Prophet Samuel declared– “Hath the Lord as great a delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as in obeying the voice of God. Behold! To obey is better than sacrifice.

Whenever we hear instructions from “The Word of God,” our singular response is to obey. (That’s Wisdom).

LAW AND GRACE:

Under Old Testament Law, Obedience was commanded and demanded. Every act of disobedience was met with severe consequences.

However, in the New Testament, Jesus brought grace (Unmerited Favor). The woman caught in the act of adultery would have been stoned to death. But, Jesus said,” Neither do I condemn thee, Go and Sin No More.”  (John 8:1-11).

Why would anyone—caught in the act of adultery, embarrassed and humiliated want to go through this ordeal a second time?

In his compassion, Jesus forgave her, though she spoke not one word of repentance.  What wondrous love the Father bestows on us, even when we’re condemned?

By grace, through faith, we all have access to this same love. So, “let us come boldly…that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help us in times of need.”  (Hebrews 4:16)

LOVE :

As Christians, we obey, not because of a commandment but constrained by love.

Jesus said, “If you love me, keep my commandments. ” (John 14:15)

For, when we are obedient, there’s no need for repentance.

We must repent when we choose to disobey.

Remember, Our Obedience Is Also An Act Of Worship.

Furthermore, as Dr. Mike Murdock says, “Obedience Is the Only Proof of Our Faith In God.”

GOING ON TO PERFECTION:

  •  “Therefore, leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection, not laying again the foundation of repentance…” (Hebrews 6:1).
  • “Be ye therefore perfect, even as you Father in heaven is perfect. (Matthew 5:48).
  • “For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: Till we all come in the unity of the faith…unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ.” (Ephesians 4:12).
  • “…Perfecting holiness in the fear of God.” (2 Corinthians 7:1).
  • Jesus learned obedience by the things which He suffered–and being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey Him.” (Hebrews 5:8,9).

 Our True Identity:

He suffered to identify with us; we must obey to be identified with Him.

  • “Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us, we must arm ourselves with the same mind…” (1 Peter 4:1).
  • “Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus…He humbled himself and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross…”(Philippians 2:5,8).
  • “Heirs of God and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may also be glorified together.”
  • “For, I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the Glory which shall be revealed.” (Romans 8:17,18).

Simply Obey.

Let us pray : Heavenly Father, help us to walk in obedience, not according to our former lust in ignorance, but Father, give us the grace to serve you acceptably, with reverence and godly fear, from this day forward. Amen

The 7 Things God Hates, Every Christian Should Know.

August 12, 2022 admin Wise-words 0 Comments

“My people are destroyed for a lack of knowledge.” (Hosea 4:6). But knowledge applied, increases wisdom. The Apostle Paul wrote, “That I might know Him…” This should be the uttermost desire of every Christian–To know God. For, “The people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.” (Daniel 11:32).

  1. A Proud Look.
  2. A Lying Tongue.
  3. Hands That Shed Innocent Blood.
  4. A Heart That Devises Wicked Imagination.
  5. Feet that be Swift In Running To Mischief.
  6. A False Witness That Speaks Lies.
  7. He That Soweth discord Among Brethren.

The Ultimate Lesson of Life… By King Solomon.

August 12, 2022 admin Wise-words 0 Comments

“Experience Is the Best Teacher. “An expression made by George Gascoigne back in the sixteenth century still boldly impactful, today.

This was Solomon’s life.

As a young man, inheriting the throne of David his father, Solomon turned to God for direction and counsel.

His request–“Give me now wisdom and knowledge, that I may go out and come in before this people: for who can judge this thy people that is so great?” (2 Chronicles 1:10).

In response, God also granted Solomon riches, wealth, and honor such that there was none to be compared.

THE QUEEN: The “Queen of Sheba” came from the utmost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon. Amazed, she declared, “It was a true report that I heard in mine own land of thy act and thy wisdom. Howbeit, I believed not the words, until I came and my eyes have seen it: and behold the half had not been told me: thy wisdom and prosperity exceedeth the fame which I heard!” (1Kings 10:6,7).

King Solomon gave the “Queen of Sheba” all her desires, whatsoever she asked–besides that which he gave her of his royal bounty…(1 Kings 10:13).

Solomon’s Splendor: The weight of the gold that Solomon received yearly was 666 talents, not including the revenues from merchants and traders and all the Arabian kings and the governors of the territories.

King Solomon made: Two hundred large shields of hammered gold; six hundred shekels of gold went into each shield. (A shekel is equivalent to 4 ounces or 11 grams).

(600×4=2400, divided by 16 ounces per pound=150 lbs. or 68038.86 grams).

Three hundred small shields of hammered gold, with three minas of gold in each shield.

The king put them in the Palace of the Forest of Lebanon.

  • Then the king made a great throne covered with ivory and overlaid with fine gold.

The throne had six steps, and its back had a rounded top. On both sides of the seat were armrests, with a lion standing beside each of them.  Twelve lions stood on the six steps, one at either end of each step.

Nothing like it was ever made for any other kingdom .

  • All King Solomon’s goblets were gold.
  • All the household articles in the Palace of the Forest of Lebanon were pure gold.

Nothing was made of silver because silver was considered of little value in Solomon’s days.

  • The king had a fleet of trading ships at sea along with the ships of Hiram. Once every three years, it returned, carrying gold, silver, and ivory, and apes and baboons.

King Solomon excelled in riches and wisdom more than all the other kings of the earth.

The whole world sought an audience with Solomon to hear the wisdom God had put in his heart .

  • Year after year, everyone who came brought a gift—articles of silver and gold, robes, weapons and spices, and horses and mules.
  • Solomon accumulated chariots and horses; he had fourteen hundred chariots and twelve thousand horses, which he kept in the chariot cities with him in Jerusalem.
  • The king made silver as common in Jerusalem as stones and cedar as plentiful as sycamore-fig trees in the foothills.
  • Horses were imported from Egypt and Kue—the royal merchants purchased them from Kue at the current price of one hundred and fifty shekels of silver.
  • Chariots were imported from Egypt for six hundred shekels of silver.

Vanity of Vanities. As king over Israel in Jerusalem, I the preacher gave my heart to seek and search out wisdom concerning all things done under heaven.

I said to myself, “Come now, I will test you with pleasure to find out what is good.” But that also proved to be meaningless.

“Laughter,” I said, “is madness. And what does pleasure accomplish?”

I tried cheering myself with wine and embracing folly—my mind still guiding me with wisdom. I wanted to see what was good for people to do under the heavens during the few days of their lives.

I undertook great projects:

  • I built houses for myself and planted vineyards.
  • I made gardens and parks and planted all kinds of fruit trees in them.
  • I made reservoirs to water groves of flourishing trees.
  • I bought male and female slaves and had other slaves who were born in my house.
  •  I also owned more herds and flocks than anyone in Jerusalem before me.
  •  I amassed silver and gold and the treasure of kings and provinces.
  • I acquired male and female singers and a harem—the delights of a man’s heart.

I became greater by far than anyone in Jerusalem before me. In all this, my wisdom stayed with me.

  • I denied myself nothing my eyes desired.
  • I refused my heart no pleasure.
  • My heart took delight in all my labor, and this was the reward for all my toil.
  • Yet when I surveyed all my hands had done, and what I had toiled to achieve, everything was meaningless, a chasing after the wind.    Nothing gained under the sun.

Earthly Wisdom and Folly Are Meaningless : Then I turned my thoughts to consider wisdom and madness and folly.

What more can the king’s successor do than what has already been done?

I saw that wisdom is better than folly, just as light is better than darkness .

The wise have eyes in their heads, while the fool walks in the darkness;

But I came to realize that the same fate overtakes them both.

Then I said to myself, “The fate of the fool will overtake me also. What then do I gain by being wise?”

I said to myself, “This too is meaningless.”

The wise, like the fool, will not be long remembered. The days have already come when both have been forgotten.

Like the fool, the wise too must die!

Toil Is Meaningless: I hated life because the work that is done under the sun was grievous to me.

I hated all things I had toiled for under the sun; because I must leave them to the one who comes after me .

And who knows whether that person will be wise or foolish?  Y et they will have control over all the fruit of my toil into which I have poured my effort and skill under the sun. This is meaningless.

So, my heart began to despair over all my toilsome labor under the sun.

A person may labor with wisdom, knowledge, and skill, and then they must leave all they own to another who has not toiled for it. This, too, is meaningless and a great misfortune.

What do people get for all the toil and anxious striving with which they labor under the sun?

All their days’ work is grief and pain; even at night, their minds do not rest.  This, too, is meaningless.

A person can do nothing better than eat and drink and find satisfaction in their toil.  This too, I see, is from the hand of God, for without him, who can eat or find enjoyment?

To the person who pleases him, God gives wisdom, knowledge, and happiness, but to the sinner, he gives the task of gathering and storing up wealth to hand it over to the one who pleases God .

This, too, is meaningless, a chasing after the wind.

Solomon Turns from God: King Solomon, however, loved many foreign women besides Pharaoh’s daughter—He loved Moabites, Ammonites, Edomites, Sidonians, and Hittites.

They were from nations about which the Lord had told the Israelites, “You must not intermarry because they will surely turn your hearts after their gods. Nevertheless, Solomon held fast to them in love.

  • He had seven hundred wives of royal birth and three hundred concubines, and his wives led him astray .

As Solomon grew old, his wives turned his heart after other gods ,  and his heart was not entirely devoted to the Lord his God, as the heart of David his father had been .

He followed Ashtoreth, the goddess of the Sidonians, and Molek, the detestable God of the Ammonites. So, Solomon did evil in the eyes of the Lord; he did not follow the Lord completely, as David, his father, had done .

  • On a hill east of Jerusalem, Solomon built a high place for Chemosh, the detestable God of Moab, and Molek, the detestable God of the Ammonites.
  •  He did the same for all his foreign wives, who burned incense and offered sacrifices to their gods.

The Lord God of Israel who hath twice appeared unto Solomon became angry with him because his heart was turned away.

Although he had forbidden Solomon to follow other gods, Solomon did not keep the Lord’s command.

So, the Lord said to Solomon, “Since this is your attitude and you have not kept my covenant and my decrees, which I commanded you, I will most certainly tear the kingdom away from you and give it to one of your subordinates.

The Conclusion.

Rejoice, O young man, in thy youth; and let thy heart cheer thee in the days of thy youth, and walk in the ways of thine heart, and in the sight of thine eyes: but know thou, that for all these things God will bring thee into judgment.

Therefore, remove sorrow from thy heart, and put away evil from thy flesh: for childhood and youth are vanities. (Ecclesiastes 11:10,11).

Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them; while the sun, or the light, or the moon, or the stars, be not darkened, nor the clouds return after the rain:

In the day when the keepers of the house shall tremble, and the strong men shall bow themselves, and the grinders cease because they are few, and those that look out of the windows be darkened,

And the doors shall be shut in the streets when the sound of the grinding is low, and he shall rise at the voice of the bird, and all the daughters of music shall be brought low.

Also, when they shall be afraid of that which is high, and fears shall be in the way, and the almond tree shall flourish, and the grasshopper shall be a burden, and desire shall fail: because man goeth to his long home and the mourners go about the streets:

Or ever the silver cord be loosed, or the golden bowl is broken, or the pitcher is broken at the fountain, or the wheel is broken at the cistern.

Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.

Vanity of vanities, saith the preacher; all is van

Vanity of vanities, saith the preacher; all is vanity.

Let Us Hear The Conclusion of The Whole Matter: Fear God, and Keep His Commandments: For This Is The Whole Duty of Man.

“Lets Fear God and keep his Commandments”

Obedience is Simply–Walking– Step by Step.

August 12, 2022 admin Wise-words 0 Comments

The Bible says, “The righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith… ” (Romans 1:17).

Just take one step at a time. That’s all there is to walking– by faith–step by step…by step. Each step builds confidence for greater, bolder, and bigger steps.

Remember when you were a toddler, learning to walk, you first held on and stood up, then you began making steps while holding on, but you continued to make steps and each step gave you the confidence to make another. Soon you were walking without support. At two years old, you had mastered the art of walking and even attempted running.

Similarly you can learn to walk in the spirit and master the art. One step at a time. Step by step.

Begin with John 3:3,7 where Jesus said, You must be born again. Have you been born again?

Why Wisdom Is The Principal Thing.

August 12, 2022 admin Wise-words 0 Comments

Written by  strongwords57@gmail.com   Edit

It Is written— “Wisdom Is the Principal Thing…”   (Proverbs 4:7).

To fully understand this statement, and moreso the why, one has first to ask the question– What Is Wisdom ?

The answer:

  • “Unto man He said, Behold, the Fear of the Lord, that is Wisdom. (Job 28:28)
  • Moses said–“Behold I have taught you statutes and judgments… keep therefore and do them; for this is your wisdom…” (Deuteronomy 4:6).
  • David said—The fear of the Lord is the beginning of Wisdom. (Proverbs 1:7,9:10). (Psalm 111:10).
  • Jesus said, “Whosoever hears these sayings of mine and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man… (Matthew 7:24).
  • Dr. Mike Murdock said, “Wisdom is the ability to discern differences. The Eyes see The Ears hear; The Mouth speaks…”

To Hear “The Word of God,” Understand it, and most importantly, Do it. That is Wisdom.

But, what does it mean “To Fear God.”

To fear God is to give respect, honor, and reverence to His word, His name, His holiness. God is a spirit, and they that worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.

If we can give respect and honor to a president, or king, or someone in great power and authority–How much more ought we to reverence God as creator, the one who holds life in his hands.

Indeed, it is in Him we live, and move, and have our very being… The very breath we breathe is because of Him.  (Acts 17:28) .

Having a clear understanding of “Wisdom,” and “The Fear of God” let us now go on to–Why Wisdom is the principal thing.

The Bible says,  “Get Wisdom, get understanding: forget it not; neither decline from the words of my mouth.

Forsake her not, and she shall preserve thee:

Love her, and she shall keep thee.

Exalt her, and she shall promote thee:

She shall bring thee to honor when thou dost embrace her.

She shall give to thine head an ornament of grace: a crown of glory shall she deliver to thee.

Happy is the man that findeth Wisdom and the man that getteth understanding. For the merchandise of it is better than the merchandise of silver, and the gain thereof than fine gold.

She is more precious than rubies: all the things thou canst desire are not to be compared unto her.

Length of days is in her right hand, and in her left hand– riches and honor.

Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace.

She is a tree of life to them that lay hold upon her: and happy is everyone that retaineth her.

                 (Proverbs 3:13-18, 4:5-9) .

      “WISDOM IS THE PRINCIPAL THING…”

PS. “Only Fools Despise Wisdom. . .” (Proverbs 1:7)
